1. First day of the week

With this setting you control the start of the Week period setting on the Overview screen (for Budgets and Targets) and the Graphs screen. Select any weekday from Monday (default) to Sunday.

2. First day of the month

With this setting you determine the starting day of the month-based period selections. These are the Month, 3 Months, 12 Months and Calendar year options on the Overview and Graphs screens. In this way you can start analyzing a month from the day your salary arrives in stead of the 1st. Choose any daynumber from the 1st until the 28th.

3. Standard currency

You can change the currency used on the Overview and Graphs screen and used for the Total balance on top of the Accounts screen. The values and currency codes of transactions and account balances are not changed. Choose any of the 33 world currencies that the FiQu app supports.

All recalculations to your new standard currencies are done automatically and instantly. The next time you start the app, the latest rate for the currencies you use is retrieved from the European Central Bank. If you have no internet access, the previous rate or a built-in rate is used. The FiQu app will always work offline or in airplane mode.

4. Start up with

Here you select one of the four possible screens to show when the FiQu app starts. The default is the Overview screen, so you can see how you are performing against budget limits or target amounts.

5. Advanced filter logic

By default, any category or hashtag you add to a filter will expand the selection. This is how you expect a filter to work and what most people need.

If you check this setting, you can add logic to each element of a filter. Example: filter out all transactions with category “Household expenses” and hashtag #groceries, but do not include transactions with hashtag #essential. Resulting in an overview of non-essential groceries categorized as Household expenses.

6.a. Access code

Please do secure your FiQu app by setting a pincode. This will prevent any accidental access to your financial data by someone holding your app to see pictures or make a call etc. Unlike other budgeting apps, this is not a premium functions. The privacy of your finances is very important to us, so in FiQu this is an essential option that will always be free.

You can enter any combination of five digits you like. Please avoid a code that is easy to guess like 00000 or 12345.

Your pincode is encrypted with Google technology so will remain secret even if your phone is stolen or hacked.

After several wrong attempts entering your pincode, the FiQu app will automatically stop. Any further attempt, after starting the app again, will only be possible after a few seconds waiting time. This time will increase if the next pincode is wrong again etc.

6.b. Fingerprint access

This setting becomes available after you have set up pincode access, but only if your phone or tablet does support fingerprint access or another biometric access method, like face recognition.

If your phone does support fingerprint access, but you still need to enroll a fingerprint in Android, the checkbox remains grey with the message “Not yet set-up”. In this case you can’t yet select this setting.
